Originally hailing not far from the RAAM finish point in Annapolis, Casey has been an athlete all her life. She grew up playing point-guard on her basketball teams, throwing curve balls across home base, and training horses off the track. She moved to Colorado in 2019 with an interest in cycling and soon found herself dabbling in triathlons with the Colorado Wild Women Triathlon Team. This is where she met her fellow RAAM teammates and now best friends and fell in love with cycling. She raced Race Across the West, her first ultra-endurance cycling race, in 2021 and completed her first Ironman 70.3 soon after in October of 2021.
Casey’s life motto is “can’t stop, won’t stop”, and she loves the challenge of doing hard things to push herself to become better and stronger. If you ask her to be a member on your team for any adventure, she will almost always be a YES. When Casey is not crunching numbers at work or training, she can be found hiking, back-packing, camping, working out in the gym, spending time with friends and family, critiquing brews of coffee, and so much more.
Race Across America is much more than just a personal race for Casey but also an opportunity to inspire others to challenge themselves while reaching full potential. She is excited to support the mission of Adaptive Adventures as she and her team tackle this feat.
Fun fact: Every single time Casey came in for a rider exchange during Race Across the West in 2021, she yelled, “Coming in hot” from the ever-popular song by Lecrae and Andy Mineo.
