Dana Kuper

Dana spent many hours as a young child rolling along in a bike trailer being pulled by her father. Once she was old enough, he started taking her on rides and eventually up climbs like Vail Pass. In high school, Dana bought her first road bike and set her sights on Ride the Rockies, a week long bicycle tour covering hundreds of miles and some notable Colorado mountain passes. Dana went on another RTR adventure before heading to the east coast to play lacrosse, field hockey and squash at Amherst College.

After college, Dana moved to NYC and through post-collegiate lacrosse, was reacquainted with Rhea and then Megan. After her fourth knee surgery from lacrosse related injuries, Dana decided it was time to move on to other athletic pursuits. A move to San Francisco brought cycling back into her life. After joining Megan on group rides, Dana was hooked again. She eventually started racing with Team Roaring Mouse sponsored by Roaring Mouse Cycles in SF.

Dana is now in her third year of racing. She spends most of her time on dirt and entered her first endurance MTB race, a Leadville qualifier, this past summer. She’ll be racing in UCI Women’s Elite events in cyclocross this winter. She’s excited to embark on the 2018 RAW adventure with friends and then tackle the Leadville 100 MTB race.

To support her multi-disciple cycling habit, Dana works as a Learning Specialist at Synapse School, an innovative K-8 school in the Bay Area.
