After completing Race Across the West, also known as RAW, in 2021, Jazzy‘s love for endurance cycling grew into a passion. Over the past year and a half, with her growing experience and determination to challenge herself, Jazzy completed multiple triathlons, including three 70.3 IronMan races. She also finished tough cycling races, like Colorado’s infamous Triple Bypass.
She wanted to pay it forward and support like-minded amazing women off the bike in 2022, so she crewed for the Love, Sweat, & Gears 4-woman team based out of North Dakota, as they completed Race Across America. When she cheered for the team at the finish line, she was deeply inspired and motivated (as well as shedding tears of joy and admiration of the racers accomplishment). She dreamed of crossing that RAAM finish line with the same team of women, now considered her family, from Race Across the West two years prior. Now that dream is becoming a reality.
One day, Jazzy’s hope is that everyone can experience outdoor adventures, like riding a bike, even those with physical disabilities. Our Love, Sweat, and Gears 2023 team has the honor of partnering with Adaptive Adventures. Adaptive Adventures is a nationwide nonprofit that provides unique mobile programs with adaptive equipment, free of charge, to the disabled community, including programs for veterans and children.
A fun fact about Jazzy: she and her husband, Jesse, had a pirate themed wedding, saying “I do” on a pirate ship off the coast of Waikiki.
