MEET LS&G 2024
LS&G is doing something new and completely different in 2024.
We are supporting 2 male racers in their first attempt at Race Across America.
There was something about these two guys that spoke to our hearts as not only do they live in two different states, but have been buddies since high school, which is not an easy task when you hit your . . . uh . . middle age. Both have had personal challenges but what impressed us even more is how determined they are to give back to their communities and to a national foundation. You will read how one has survived cancer, one who has coached high school and community college athletes and both have had many family and friends who have served this country through military service. For this reason, they have decided to fundraise on behalf of Disabled American Veterans (DAV). DAV is a national foundation that provides life changing support for those who have served. Learn more about DAV here https://www.dav.org/.
We can’t say for certain if it was the high school connection or the huge hearts these two have but they are a perfect fit to represent LS&G. They share the love every single day. Who could ask for more? Very proud to introduce the first all male LS&G team: Bill (the tall) Engel and John (equally tall) Gill. Click on the photo below to learn about these two amazing racers.
At the same time, we have a familiar face that is taking the leap from team racing to a solo event. You will recognize Sancho as a previous racer for LS&G making a move to a solo challenge. After conquering RAW 2021 as a 4 Woman Team, Crewing RAAM 2022, and crushing RAAM 2023 as a 4 Woman Team, Sancho is taking the leap to Solo Racing. Her goal in 2024 is the HooDoo 300 as a Solo Racer. It is a different mindset to train for a Team Event verses a Solo Race but Sancho has the Stuff!
The question is likely lingering – why the name Sancho? Well, you can believe one of two storylines. The first being that she is viewed as a loyal comrade amidst the great adventures she takes with her team. Or the second being that somehow Coach Julie misheard her name as being this when she introduced herself when they met. In both cases, the common theme of cycling is embedded and brings her to where she is today, so hold on tight because Sancho is here to stay!
