Robert Ussery

Robert got his taste for cycling while growing up in New Mexico, biking the Chihuahuan Desert with his dad. He discovered road cycling after college and took up bike touring in 2010. This will be the second time he has ridden from California to Colorado, although the last time took two months on a self-supported tour with his girlfriend Megan. He hopes to keep a faster pace in RAW this year.

These days, his friends mock the ever-multiplying bicycles cluttering the small San Francisco apartment he and Megan share. He gets his cycling fix biking the 40 miles to work and exploring the fantastic cycling roads around San Francisco. Race Across the West 2018 will be his first bicycle race and his introduction to the Ultracycling scene.
