Jennifer Velie
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Jennifer Velie is both excited and humbled to be training for her first RAAM experience. She has completed 2 triathlons, climbed 2 Colorado 14-ers, and hiked down and UP the Grand Canyon (in temperatures recorded at 120 degrees), all on crutches. She is a 30 year survivor of bone cancer, and has been a right leg above knee amputee since 1993. Velie has worked as a medical social worker for the past 20 years in the Denver area. Her interests include cooking, board games, travel, gardening and volunteer work benefitting social justice needs. One of her favorite pastimes is indulging in quality conversation over a cup of coffee and dark chocolate. Velie has a devoted husband, Jeff, of 23 years. They have 4 children, Emma (16), Tai (12), Mae (10) and Finn (9), three of whom were internationally adopted. Velie grew up in New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee, moving to Colorado in 1993 as a newlywed. The Velies have one hyper dog, one fat rabbit and 4 backyard hens. They live in Littleton, CO.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”45″][vc_column_text]
